Reading the label
Proprietary blend supplement label: what the blend does and does not tell you
A proprietary blend supplement label groups ingredients under one name. As we read 21 CFR 101.36(c), the other ingredients in a blend are listed by weight order with one total, not each amount. The seller names six ingredients for Flow Nerves, we hold no Supplement Facts panel, and no amount is printed in our material.

The rule
What is a proprietary blend on a supplement label?
It is a group of ingredients listed together under one blend name. As we read the federal rule, ingredients in a blend that have no Daily Value are listed in descending order of weight, with the blend's total weight shown, not each amount (21 CFR 101.36(c), proprietary blends).
The same rule says vitamins and minerals that have a Daily Value, such as magnesium, are declared with their own amounts. NIH tells readers to look for the active ingredients, the amount per serving and the other ingredients (NIH ODS, Dietary Supplements: What You Need to Know).
| Question | Can you tell? |
|---|---|
| Which ingredients are in the blend | Yes, by name |
| Which is biggest | Order of weight, for the ones listed in order |
| Each ingredient's amount | Not from the blend total |
| Whether it matches a studied dose | Only if an amount is printed |
Flow Nerves
What does Flow Nerves print on its label?
We cannot say, because we were not given a Supplement Facts panel. The seller names six ingredients in a “proprietary blend” and prints no milligram amount for any of them in the material we hold.
The six are magnesium glycinate, alpha lipoic acid, butcher's broom root extract, L-carnitine, turmeric extract (sales copy: 95% curcuminoids) and coenzyme Q10. Ask for the bottle's panel before you buy. We do not guess at amounts, shares or order. See the supplement facts page.
Studied doses
How do you compare a blend with studied doses?
You cannot, unless an amount is printed. Studies used the amounts below, each in people with a diagnosed condition, and none tested Flow Nerves.
| Ingredient | Flow Nerves | Studied or reference |
|---|---|---|
| Alpha lipoic acid | Not printed | About 600 to 1,800 mg a day by mouth, diabetic neuropathy (Hsieh 2023, oral alpha-lipoic acid meta) |
| Acetyl-L-carnitine (not the named form) | Not printed | 1,500 to 3,000 mg a day (Rolim 2019, acetyl-L-carnitine neuropathy (Cochrane)) |
| Nanocurcumin | Not printed | 40 mg twice a day for 16 weeks, no difference (Mansour 2025, nanocurcumin neuropathy trial) |
| Magnesium | Not printed | 350 mg a day upper intake from supplements, a reference level (NIH ODS, Magnesium) |
| Butcher's broom, coenzyme Q10 | Not printed | None found in a nerve trial |

FAQ
Flow Nerves questions people ask
Why do companies use proprietary blends?
We found no source in our set on why. The rule as we read it asks for ingredient order and one total weight for the blend, so a reader sees names but not each amount.
Can I ask a seller for the amounts?
Yes. Ask for the Supplement Facts panel from the bottle. We were not given one for Flow Nerves, so we cannot state any amount.
Is a bigger blend a better blend?
No source says so. NIH notes more might not be better, and a total weight alone does not show whether any single ingredient is near a studied dose.
