Turmeric extract 95% curcuminoids: why concentration is not a dose
Turmeric extract 95% curcuminoids tells you how concentrated the extract is, not how many milligrams a capsule holds. The sales page uses it for Flow Nerves, and no amount is printed. Curcumin is also poorly absorbed, and the one nerve trial we read found no difference.

The phrase
What does turmeric extract 95% curcuminoids mean?
Turmeric extract 95% curcuminoids means that 95% of the extract's weight is curcuminoids, the group that includes curcumin.
It says nothing about how much extract is in a capsule.
| Term | Answers | On Flow Nerves |
|---|---|---|
| 95% curcuminoids | How concentrated is the extract? | Stated by the sales page |
| Milligrams of extract per capsule | How much is in each capsule? | Not printed |
Absorption
How well is curcumin absorbed from a turmeric extract?
Poorly, according to a review of curcumin bioavailability.
It says piperine, liposomes and nanoparticles raise absorption (Anand 2007, curcumin bioavailability). We were not told whether Flow Nerves uses any of them, so we cannot say its extract is absorbed.
Trial doses
What do curcumin trials say about dose?
The one nerve trial we read gave a nano form at 40 mg twice a day and found no difference.
It enrolled 97 people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy for 16 weeks. Pain and neuropathy scores did not differ from placebo (Mansour 2025, nanocurcumin neuropathy trial). That was a nano formulation, and no trial tested Flow Nerves.
- Alpha lipoic acidlabel amount: not printednot printed
Trials in diagnosed diabetic neuropathy used about 600 to 1,800 mg a day by mouth (2023 meta-analysis; NATHAN 1 used 600 mg for 4 years); Flow Nerves prints no amount. Studies used about 600 mg to 1,800 mg a day. The capsule prints no amount, so there is no label figure to set beside it. (Hsieh 2023, oral alpha-lipoic acid meta) (Ziegler 2011, NATHAN 1 oral alpha-lipoic acid)
- Acetyl-L-carnitine (the form studied)label amount: not printednot printed
Neuropathy trials used acetyl-L-carnitine at 1,500 to 3,000 mg a day; Flow Nerves names L-carnitine, not the acetyl form, and prints no amount. Studies used about 1,500 mg to 3,000 mg a day. The capsule prints no amount, so there is no label figure to set beside it. (Rolim 2019, acetyl-L-carnitine neuropathy (Cochrane))
- Nanocurcumin (the form studied)label amount: not printednot printed
One 16-week trial used 40 mg twice a day of a nano formulation and found no difference; the capsule is a 95% extract with no amount printed. Studies used about 80 mg a day. The capsule prints no amount, so there is no label figure to set beside it. (Mansour 2025, nanocurcumin neuropathy trial)
- Magnesium from supplements (reference level)label amount: not printednot printed
Reference level: NIH's tolerable upper intake from supplements and medicines is 350 mg a day; not a study dose; no amount is printed. A reference level, not a study dose. The capsule prints no amount to set beside it. (NIH ODS, Magnesium)
- Butcher's broom and coenzyme Q10label amount: not printednot printed
The sources we read give no dose for either in a neuropathy trial; we found no trial at an unstated amount. No human trial range found. (EMA, Butcher's broom (Rusci rhizoma)) (MSK, Coenzyme Q10)
Log scale: each gridline is ten times the one before, in milligrams a day. The six ingredients share one proprietary blend with no printed amounts, so no label dot can be drawn. A bar being far away does not mean the product is unsafe or useless; it means the study results cannot be borrowed for it, because none tested Flow Nerves or this six-ingredient blend.

Does a higher curcuminoid percentage mean more risk?
We found no source that links the percentage to risk; the cautions cover turmeric supplements.
LiverTox rates turmeric likelihood score A for liver injury, with daily doses of 100 to over 1,000 mg in reports and onset in 1 to 4 months (LiverTox, Turmeric). MSK says people on warfarin or other blood thinners should not take turmeric supplements (MSK, Turmeric). Ask a pharmacist; keep taking prescribed medicine and never stop or change one on your own. FAQ
Flow Nerves questions people ask
Is 95% curcuminoids the same as 95% curcumin?
No. Curcuminoids are a group of compounds in turmeric that includes curcumin. The 95% describes the extract, not the milligrams in a capsule.
How much curcumin is in one Flow Nerves capsule?
We do not know. The seller prints no milligram amount for any of the six ingredients, and we hold no Supplement Facts panel.
Does curcumin help diabetic neuropathy?
One 16-week trial in 97 people found no significant difference from placebo in pain or neuropathy scores. No trial tested Flow Nerves.
